BROTHERS and SISTERS

I often think of who we are

and where it all began

Products of two lives are we

the woman and the man.

We've traveled many different roads

and yet to have come so far

We've changed in lots of little ways

though not really who we are.

I remember well the children

we all were way back then

And when I look into your eyes

I still see that child of ten.

How fortunate we all are

to have these lines of love

To know that we are tethered

to a higher power above.

We know that we are not alone

for we will always be

Loving close-knit members

of the same sweet family.

                               Mother is...

I look at her, the lady, and my eyes fill with tears

I have respected her and loved her for all of my years.

I watched her through sad times, bad times and good

She is everything he wanted, that a Mother should.

Mother is smart, she is kind, she is love

Help me be half the woman she is,

I pray to my Father above.

I won't be as pretty, I know that is true

I am not near as brave, that number is few.

I'll not be the pioneer, to show my family the way

She inspires us with her attitude, each and everyday.

Mother is sweet, she is caring, she is love

Help me be half the woman she is,

I pray to my Father above.

I am not as understanding, and nowhere near as wise

Her life has not been easy, but to every occasion she did rise.

I know I am not as helpful, to those who are in need

I have watched her reach out to many and never seen her show greed.

Mother is generous, she is patient, she is love

Help me be half the woman she is,

I pray to my Father above.

I will try to be kinder and to walk in her path

I want to be better and to lead as she hath.

I will do as she does and use my hands to help others

I will do as she taught and always lift another.

Mother is my mentor, my model, she is love

Help me be half the woman she is,

I pray to my Father above.

I vow to try harder, in faith to walk

I will think and listen rather than talk.

I will make her proud when she looks at me

Someday a better person, I hope she will see.

Mother is my friend, my teacher, she is love

Help me be half the woman she is,

I pray to my Father above.

I will remember what she taught me for all of my life

I will be the same person whether in good times or strife.

I will treat all that I meet in the same kind way

I want to be like her at the end of my day.

Mother is my hero, my Mother, she is love

Help me be half the woman she is,

I pray to my Father above.
