Two years ago I became very ill.  The doctors had difficulty diagnosing my illness.  Finally, after almost three months of searching they discovered that I had an incurable illness.  I was sent to a hospital in Texas that specializes in my disease.  As I lay in my hospital bed, often thinking it my death bed, I read the Bible very much.  While reading, I came across two verses of scripture that have given me great hope.  The seventh and eighth verses in the chapter of Proverbs read, “Be not wise in thine own eyes.  Fear the Lord and depart from evil.  It shall be health to thy navel and marrow to thy bones.”

My disease is a disease of the blood that begins in the marrow where blood is produced.  After reading these verses there was a warm and comfortable feeling swelling up inside me.  I no longer worried about dying.  Even if it was my time to leave this world I was no longer afraid.  For the first time in my life I felt God within me.  It was the most wonderful feeling I’ve ever experienced.  An experience I hope every one of you have.
